In 2011-2012 we have funded 11 projects
- Trefelin Boys and Girls Club were awarded £80. Trefelin have received funding for two young people to attend the Football Leaders Award, this will enable them to voluntarily deliver training sessions to the rest of the team and to young players in the future.
- Ysgol Hendre Youth Club were awarded £442.20. The Youth Club has been awarded a grant to purchase outdoor games equipment such as a parachute, floor target giant jenga and mega connect 4. Four young members of the club have become volunteers at the club to organise activities and support the younger members, the additional equipment will ensure the young people retain interest in the club and broadens the types of activities they can take part in.
- SNAC were awarded £350. As part of their aim to promote independence among young people and develop their life skills SNAC are encouraging young people to complete the Duke of Edinburgh award. Therefore they have been awarded a grant to allow them to purchase camping equipment to assist with the expedition element of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. There are a number of young volunteers who currently volunteer in SNAC and who will attend the camping expeditions in order to support the young people taking part, benefiting all the young people involved.
- Neath-Afan Gymnastics Club were awarded £315. The club ran a taster session for Aerobic Gymnastics which proved very popular and are now looking to begin regular sessions. In order to be able to do this the club needs a qualified Aerobic Gymnastics coach and therefore the Youth Opportunities Bank have decided to fund a young volunteer to complete the UKCC Level 1 Aerobic Gymnastics Coaching course.
- Clarewood Neath Foyer were awarded £488.95. The residents at the project are working towards cooking qualifications and were given cooking equipment to help them cook for community events.
- WGCADA were awarded £494.61. The money is going towards a graffiti project to engage the young people and to assist some of the young people to set up mini enterprises using their art work.
- Sanctuary Youth Club were awarded £484.57. The young people needed new equipment to allow current volunteers to carry on leading activities at the club.
- Nu Generation were awarded £262.50. This dance group were awarded money to go towards rent of their premises, thus allowing the club to continue and volunteers to continue leading dance sessions.
- Blaengwynfi Youth Club were awarded £394.54. This was for equipment for the club to allow young volunteers to organise activities, games and tournaments.
- Pelenna Youth Club were awarded £207.45. This was for young volunteers to organise an Easter Egg Hunt for children in the local community.
- Croeserw Youth Club were awarded £499.96. With this money they are purchasing equipment to allow more activities to take place at the club, led by a number of young volunteers.
